Afternoon, NOCO Crew!

This week is full of barbarians, brews, and books! Check out some felicitous fall festivals across three different towns, browse a bevy of book clubs, and revel in a ranged roster of live music happening throughout NOCO.

Grab a coffee, and let's dig in!

– David

Every contribution keeps us out in the field, digging into local history, and showing up for the towns we cover. We're grateful for every bit of support. Thanks for being part of this.

— Megan & David

MeadKrieger's Barbarian Night

The Lyric — Friday, 5pm to 11:59pm

Loveland's Norse-leaning meadery takes over a Fort Collins movie theater for a Fall Equinox costume party — horns, mead, and a room full of people celebrating the changing season.

It might not be completely obvious at first glance, but MeadKrieger is running half a week of Norse-flavored programming you’re not going to want to miss. Thursday (tonight) they're serving barbecue back at the meadery in Loveland ($10 a plate, $15 all-you-care-to-eat). Tomorrow’s the costume party. Then Wednesday (next week) they're hosting Jackson Crawford — American historical linguist, poet, and prominent Old Norse scholar — for a talk at the meadery. Three nights, one thread: a Loveland tasting room building out something closer to a cultural calendar in place of a happy hour schedule.

It's the kind of unusual, specific, distinctly-NOCO thing that's certainly not your typical brewery event.
